Additional Information

The PFC Advanced was designed to fire pyrotechnic shows. It is a completely self-sufficient firing controller that users worldwide have relied on for more than 15 years. Due to the various interfaces, this controller is also ideal for complex pyromusical and multimedia shows.

The controller offers a fully integrated wireless solution. No external radio modules are required. It does not depend on any external data lines, which eliminates frequent sources of error.

The PFC Advanced has the following interfaces for integration into multimedia shows: SMPTE Timecode (25 fps) and DMX-512.

The device has a very large, illuminated LC display with touch operation. The menu navigation is graphical and multilingual with icons and text. Illuminated function keys ensure ease of use.

Information text can be assigned manually to each firing channel or loaded from the PC via USB. This means that you can constantly read on the display which effect will be fired next. You have the option of firing manually, automatically (firing script) or semi-automatically (mixture of manual and firing script). In the firing modes listed above you can trigger spare channels at any time.

In manual firing mode, you can quickly access all firing channels directly via a graphics keypad. A dead man button and the ability to suppress firing channels while an automatic firing script is running offers additional safety.

You can also intervene at any time with the functions “Pause”, “Cancel” and “Immediately fire next channel” during automatic firing. Firing scripts can either be entered manually or loaded into the controller via the RS-232 and USB interfaces.

The smallest time interval between two firing channels is 0.3 seconds, the largest 999.9 seconds. To be able to fire effects at shorter intervals, we recommend our optional stepping function for the PFE Advanced Receivers. The timing between the firing cues can be reduced to 0.01 seconds. Even the most extreme applications (fast and long step sequences, dynamic speed changes) can be easily achieved.

An external firing input enables you to trigger firing scripts or channels using push buttons, light barriers, relays, external contacts or third party firing systems.

The power supply is provided by a high-performance rechargeable battery, which allows an operating time of up to 6 hours. The status of the built-in battery is accurately displayed. Alternatively, you can supply the controller with an external voltage source via a multifunction socket. Intelligent charging electronics ensure that the batteries are always kept at 100% capacity without overcharging.

No connection to a PC is required for firing. This means: No laptop that reacts sensitively to temperatures, humidity and vibrations, no unstable operating systems and no error-prone cable connections are necessary!

When using receivers of the “Advanced” series or our G-Flames and L-Flames, all relevant data can be requested and programmed at the PFC (bi-directional communication).

The RS-485 interface provides the ability to communicate with the PFE Advanced Receiver via cable.
