G-Flame Flame Projector

The Galaxis flame projector G-Flame is a new type of SFX device. It is extremely versatile in both indoor, and outdoor special effects applications and is equipped with numerous features.

In comparison to other products on the market, the Galaxis flame devices provides a much higher and fuller effect, with a more aesthetic flame shape along with a low noise level (ideal for stage/TV).

Numerous control options are available and in addition to the integral wired DMX-512, wireless DMX receivers can also be powered via the XLR connection. This means that extra power supplies, batteries or rechargeable batteries are not required for the DMX receivers.

All components are housed in a low profile, lightweight, stable, powder-coated aluminum housing.

A large rechargeable battery ensures a long, mains free operation time of up to 60 hours, and large power reserves for the reliable supply to the powerful high-voltage ignition system and solenoid valves. Various battery test functions are integrated.

Operating the device is very simple. All necessary settings can be accessed via an illuminated text display with menu guidance.

The fuel used is either inexpensive propane/butane liquefied gas from commercially available gas cylinders which are connected via a hose. Alternatively, one or two disposable canisters of propane/butane mixture or aerosol can be installed in the unit with the manifold. In combination with the optionally available G-Flame Power Upgrade, four canisters may be used simultaneously. These additional canisters and the manifold holder are located under a cover on the rear of the unit. They are safely integrated into the device and are not visible.

The optional extension for canister operation contains the holders for two canisters and two non-return valves so that no fuel can escape through an accidentally opened shut-off valve. The conversion to operation with canisters enables the use on stages. The same applies of course to the G-Flame Power Upgrade. In this context, we would like to point out that many customers also use the cartridge option for outdoor applications, either because of the quick and convenient installation or because independent operation is required.

Independent operation means that no control cables, power cables, additional cabled control devices, gas hoses or gas cylinders are required. This means that the unit can be set up very quickly and can also be used on moving objects. The G-Flame becomes completely stand alone and portable when canisters are used and the device is controlled either by radio with the optional internal wireless module or external wireless DMX receivers.

Outdoor operation is possible in the rain.

The device has a fine filter which largely prevents dust, sand or other foreign material from reaching the solenoid valves, and damaging them or causing leaks.

In addition, two solenoid valves in line increase safety.

A visual LED warning “!” display indicates that the device is ready to fire and flame effects are imminent.

The device is equipped with a tilt sensor. If it is tilted by more than 45°, the fuel supply is turned off for safety reasons. This function can be deactivated in the menu if you want to operate the unit with a larger angle of inclination. The G-Flame can thus generate flame effects in all directions, including vertically downwards. For cartridge operation when used at a tilt angle of more than 70° an adapter piece must be used so that the fuel is still taken from the gas canisters in the liquid phase.

Electronic flame monitoring by means of an optical flame sensor ensures that the fuel supply is switched off quickly if the flame does not ignite. The sensor is highly selective so that spotlights or sunlight cannot interfere with flame detection. The flame monitoring can be deactivated in the menu.

With each control variant, different control times can be used for each triggering, e.g. to generate short, but powerful flame balls as well as long standing flame columns.

For operation with DMX-512, the flame channel and safety channel can be programmed without any restrictions. For example, several devices can be set to different control channels and a common safety channel.

The unit itself, the cartridge adapter and the hose are equipped with quick couplers, which significantly reduces the set-up time.

The device is equipped with a top hat holder for direct and quick mounting on speaker stands. In addition, integrated cage nuts allow half coupler connectors to be screwed in for easy mounting on 3- and 4-point trusses.

The flame height can be determined by using different nozzles during operation with canisters. When LPG cylinders are used, the flame height can be varied using an adjustable pressure regulator.

After closing the solenoid valves, the flame vanishes very rapidly, which allows fast step sequences to be performed.

A holder for up to four nozzles is integrated within the unit.

When operated with the Advanced radio module, so-called atomic effects can be programmed. This allows the release of fuel with a delayed ignition to produce a swirling wide body of flame.

If the Advanced radio module is installed, extremely fast step sequences can be programmed with a range of 0.01 to 99.99 seconds and a resolution of 10 ms (1/100 s). In addition, the G-Flame becomes a bi-directional flame effect device with extensive functions that simplifies practical work and offers many advantages. The device can communicate with the controller PFC Advanced, the PFS Pocket, or with any PC via USB Radio Modem.

Useful additional functions such as the flame quota, the flame duration limit and a misfire limit make it a very versatile product.
